Maryam Samadi

Maryam Samadi was born in Ghotor, Khoy, in 1988, and now lives in Urmia. She began her directing career in 2009 and directed her first short film, Blue Kite, in 2011. She joined the Iranian Youth Cinema Society in 2012, graduated, and pursued professional directing while continuing her education. Between 2013 and 2015, she directed several short films, including The Summer of the Swans, which won awards at international festivals. In 2023, she directed Salt Sellers (a joint production between Iran and Belgium) and A House Near the Sun (a joint production between Iran and Germany). Her films have earned international recognition and awards.
