Sardar Zangana is a Kurdish filmmaker from Kirkuk, born in 1959. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad with a degree in Cinematic Arts and later worked as an art teacher alongside his cinematic activities.

He served as a Jury Member at the third edition of the KIFF (Yılmaz Güney Edition) in 2022. Throughout his career, he directed a number of short films across fiction, documentary, and animation cinema. His work has been closely connected to Kurdish cultural and cinematic activity in Kirkuk and the Kurdistan Region.

Zangana is also known for his role in supporting independent cinema initiatives in Iraq and Kurdistan. He served as President of the Kirkuk International Short Film Festival and President of the Kirkuk International Cinema Forum, contributing to the development of local film culture and emerging filmmakers.

His cinematic work reflects an interest in cultural identity, memory, and social reality through independent filmmaking and visual storytelling.
