Melissa Martinelli

Melissa Martinelli is a Los Angeles–based actress, writer, director, and producer whose artistic career moves between cinema, television, theater, and independent filmmaking, combining performance-driven storytelling with contemporary visual production. 

Originally from Philadelphia, Martinelli developed her artistic background through acting, improvisation, comedy, and performance studies, training with several industry professionals and performance coaches while building her work across film, television, and theater. 

Over the years, she established herself as both performer and creator, working in acting, screenwriting, directing, and independent production. Her film and television appearances include productions such as:
• Lead Right
• I Can’t Breathe
• Reins of Hope
• Door to Door
• Fishtown
• Happy Acres
• Heroes of the Street
• La Petite Mortimer

She also co-wrote, produced, and starred in Lead Right, reflecting her growing involvement in independent filmmaking and character-driven storytelling. 

Martinelli received recognition for her performance work through projects including the regional Emmy-winning documentary Philadelphia: The Great Experiment – Fever: 1793, where she portrayed Ann Parrish. 

Her artistic approach combines emotionally accessible performance, contemporary female-driven storytelling, and independent cinematic production, often focusing on character psychology, vulnerability, and human connection through both acting and filmmaking.

At the 6th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2025, Melissa Martinelli serves as a member of the International Jury, contributing a perspective shaped by acting, independent filmmaking, and contemporary cinematic storytelling.
