Film Summary:
In a war-torn town, “Night” usually brings rest and sleep to its people. However, the eyes of a mother who has lost her child remain awake, unable to rest. “Night” tries to trick the mother into sleeping, hoping to save her soul.
Award:
The film won the Best Animated Film award at the third edition of the Kobani International Film Festival, dedicated to Kurdish filmmaker Yılmaz Güney.
About the Director: Ahmad Saleh
Ahmad Saleh is a Palestinian-German director and screenwriter, born in 1980 in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He studied electronics engineering in Palestine before earning two master’s degrees in the arts in Germany. He began his artistic journey by writing a collection of short stories titled Zawada, which won the Abdel Mohsen Al-Qattan Award for Young Writer in 2004.

House (2012): Won second place at the German Short Film Prize.
Ayny (2016): Winner of the Student Academy Award for Best Foreign Animation.
