Nashmil Ghafur is a Kurdish-German actress and theater performer originally from Sulaymaniyah, whose artistic journey is rooted in Kurdish theater and independent cultural work in Germany. Her experience combines stage performance, community-based theater, and cultural engagement within Kurdish artistic spaces in Europe.
She began her relationship with theater in Kurdistan-Iraq through participation in local theater groups in Sulaymaniyah before relocating to Germany in the late 1990s, where she continued her artistic activities within independent Kurdish theater groups and performance projects.

Alongside her theatrical work, she contributed to children’s theater education and cultural activities in Bielefeld, focusing on community theater and artistic engagement connected to Kurdish language, identity, and culture.
She also participated in independent short film projects and maintained an active presence within Kurdish cultural initiatives in Germany, particularly in community theater and performing arts.
At the 4th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2023, Nashmil Ghafur participated as a member of the Narrative Films Selection Committee, contributing a perspective shaped by Kurdish theater and community-based artistic work in Europe.
