Adnan Jetto is a Kurdish-Syrian filmmaker, editor, and visual artist whose artistic journey moves between independent cinema, animation, motion graphics, documentary filmmaking, and video art. His work reflects a multidisciplinary visual language shaped by graphic arts, cinematic image-making, and experimental storytelling across Syria, Iraq, and Turkey.
He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, specializing in Gravure and Printmaking, before beginning his career inside animation and visual production studios in Damascus. During his early years, he worked as:
• Background Painter at Al Najem Animation Production
• Layout Artist at Gost Company
This early experience established his strong relationship with composition, movement, visual rhythm, and animation aesthetics before transitioning into filmmaking and editing.
Later, his work expanded into documentary cinema, short films, motion graphics, and visual media production through collaborations with several media and production companies, including:
• Al Khabar Production
• Al Mada Production
• ARK Group DMCC
• Syria TV
Across these experiences, he worked in directing, producing, editing, visual storytelling, and training media teams in filmmaking, cinematography, and post-production.
Over the years, Jetto directed several documentaries, short films, animation works, and video-art projects, including:
• Attempt of a Body (Animation Film)
• Paris Aleppo
• Barrel
• Champion
• The Forgotten Cities
• Soul Mate
His films and visual works were screened at festivals, universities, and cultural spaces across Germany, France, Turkey, Lebanon, and the United Kingdom. His short film Soul Mate received several awards and special screenings within alternative cinema and visual arts festivals.
His artistic approach combines cinematic realism with graphic composition, motion aesthetics, and experimental visual storytelling, often exploring themes connected to memory, war, displacement, and human experience through a language close to video art and contemporary independent cinema.
At the 6th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2025, Adnan Jetto serves as a member of the Animation Films Committee, contributing a visual perspective shaped by independent cinema, animation, and contemporary visual arts.
