Adnan Jetto is a Kurdish-Syrian filmmaker, editor, animator, and visual artist whose artistic journey moves between independent cinema, animation, motion graphics, documentary filmmaking, and video art. His visual language combines cinematic storytelling with contemporary graphic composition and experimental visual expression developed across Syria, Iraq, and Turkey.
He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, specializing in Gravure and Printmaking between 2004 and 2008, before beginning his professional path within animation and visual production studios in Damascus. His early experience included working as:
• Background Painter at Al Najem Animation Production
• Layout Artist at Gost Company
These formative years established his close relationship with visual composition, movement, rhythm, and animation design before expanding toward filmmaking and visual storytelling.
Later, his work evolved between directing, editing, producing, motion graphics, and documentary filmmaking through collaborations with:
• Al Khabar Production
• Al Mada Production
• ARK Group DMCC
• Syria TV
Across these experiences, Jetto worked on television reports, documentaries, digital visual content, and media productions while also supervising training programs in cinematography, editing, filmmaking, and visual production for media teams and independent creators.
Throughout his career, he directed several short films, documentaries, animation projects, and video art works, including:
• Attempt of a Body (Animation Film)
• Paris Aleppo
• Barrel
• Champion
• The Forgotten Cities
• Soul Mate
His films and visual works were screened and presented at festivals, universities, and cultural platforms in Germany, France, Turkey, Lebanon, and the United Kingdom. His short documentary Soul Mate received awards and special mentions at international festivals, including the Signes de Nuit International Festival in Berlin and Lisbon.
Jetto’s artistic style is distinguished by the fusion of cinematic realism, animation aesthetics, graphic composition, and experimental visual rhythm. His work often explores memory, war, exile, and fragile human experiences through a visual approach influenced by video art and contemporary independent cinema.
