Shaadi Othman Ahmed is a Kurdish filmmaker and actress, born in 1994 and based in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Her artistic experience spans cinema, theater, screenwriting, directing, and editing, alongside practical work in production and behind the camera.

She studied cinema and theater at the College of Fine Arts and further developed her skills through specialized training in filmmaking, cinematography, and editing, including work with Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve.

Throughout her professional experience, she has worked as an assistant director and production assistant, as well as within camera and lighting departments, while participating in various film and theater projects. This multidisciplinary background has given her practical insight into different stages of audiovisual production.

As a filmmaker, she has written and directed a number of short films and theatrical works between 2017 and 2026, while also contributing to screenplays and other dramatic projects, developing an artistic practice that brings together writing, image, and performance.

Her experience reflects a multidisciplinary engagement with filmmaking, moving between writing, directing, performance, and editing, with a continuing interest in developing her artistic practice within independent cinema.

At the 7th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2026, Shaadi Othman Ahmed serves as a Selection Committee Member – Narrative Films Section, contributing her practical experience in filmmaking, writing, and directing to the viewing and evaluation of submitted films.
