Rolf Brüning is an internationally acclaimed German cinematographer, director, and producer whose career spans cinema, television, documentary filmmaking, and commercial visual production across Europe and the United States.
Over the course of his career, Brüning received several prestigious film and television awards, including two Goldene Kamera awards and the audience award Goldener Jupiter, alongside additional international recognitions and nominations. His work was also honored at international festivals including the Cannes-Antibes Film Festival.
Brüning studied both in Germany and the United States before beginning his professional cinematic journey through collaborations connected to Bayer AG in Leverkusen, where he developed his early visual and technical experience in film production.
In the years that followed, he worked extensively across feature films, television productions, documentaries, and advertising campaigns for major international companies and brands, including:

Alongside his commercial work, Brüning directed and produced documentaries and reportages while continuing his work as Director of Photography on numerous television dramas and cinematic productions.

many of which also received important film and television awards.

At the 6th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2025, Rolf Brüning serves as a member of the International Jury, contributing a perspective shaped by cinematography, directing, and internationally recognized visual storytelling.
