Feras Mahmoud

Actor and theatre director

Syrian actor and theatre director from Aleppo, born in 1985.

Feras Mahmoud graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and began his artistic career on the theatre stages of Aleppo, where he performed leading roles in several productions and received multiple acting awards.

His theatrical work focused on performance-driven storytelling and emotionally charged stage productions, combining acting with directing and movement-based performance. Alongside his acting career, he also worked as a choreographer and movement trainer for theatre productions.

Among his notable stage works are Adnan Climbs the Smoke Mountain (1998), Spring (2000), We Leave It Suddenly (2001), and Closures (2006), all directed by Hikmat Aqad and Yaman Al-Khatib.

He also directed the theatre production The Expected in 2010 and worked as a dance and movement coach in the play Mothers Can Dance in 2008.

At the Kobani International Film Festival, Feras Mahmoud served as a member of the Selection Committee during the festival’s third edition in 2022.
