Jinan Marhej is a Lebanese media professional, journalist, and television presenter whose career spans written, visual, and radio media across more than two decades, with a particular passion for cinema and cultural broadcasting.
She graduated from the Faculty of Media and Documentation at the Lebanese University before beginning a long professional journey in journalism, television, and radio, working across cultural, artistic, and entertainment media formats.
Throughout her career, Marhej interviewed a large number of prominent Arab artists, filmmakers, actors, musicians, and public figures, building a media presence closely connected to Arab cultural and artistic life.
Her strongest connection remained with cinema through two long-running film programs, Spotlight and Cinemascoop, which she prepared and presented for more than ten years. Through these programs, she followed Arab and international cinema, film festivals, cinematic trends, and conversations with filmmakers and actors across the region.
Alongside her television work, she presented numerous successful radio programs in various cultural and social fields for more than twenty years, developing extensive experience in live broadcasting, media presentation, and cultural communication.
Marhej also served as Head of Programming at Umm Al Quwain FM Radio in the United Arab Emirates, contributing to the development of radio content and cultural broadcasting strategies.
Her media approach combines journalistic professionalism with a deep emotional connection to cinema, often approaching films through artistic sensitivity, cultural context, and audience engagement.
At the 6th edition of the Kobani International Film Festival 2025, Jinan Marhej serves as a member of the Documentary Films Committee, contributing a perspective shaped by cinematic media, cultural journalism, and long-standing engagement with Arab and international cinema.
